The Slow Death of the Findadeath.com Forum

I'm the one who started the Frustrating Demise of Dlisted thread. It got me to thinking of another site that was a daily visit for me, but no longer. Hardly any activity on there now. It used to be a goldmine of information, with many new posts each day. Now it's sort of, well, dead. A few months ago I posted this question to the forum asking why the tumbleweeds, and a mod deleted it.

Didn't websleuths get a makeover recently? Maybe they'll take you back now.

R1 You can't even compare the two. Many of the posters on the FAD forum were truly witty and informative. Nothing like the frau-pile of grief vultures over at Websleuths.

I wondered about that too OP. It looks like the guy running the find a death website is finally doing some updating.

Scott's tour business has really taken off, so you would think it would translate to a lot of activity on the forums, but that hasn't been the case. True that some updating of the main site is happening though, R3 I'm greedy, I want more.

The pop up ads are more pesky than on other sites.

I used to stay on that site. I'll have to check out the New stuff.

Bump. Looks like they are overhauling the forum part of the site. It was fine before, until people stopped participating. Whatever they do, I hope ot means it will come back to life--no pun intended--once they relauch it. Doubtful, sadly.

The guy who runs it actually replied to an email I sent about Janis Joplin's death having too many loose ends. I think it's great that he would do that. So many people just don't believe in replying to something that's not some stupid drivel. You know, like the shit I intentionally post here. Until 12th December, when my month of paying is up. Mark your calendars; I certainly am....

I used to love the Find-A-Death forum, too. As someone mentioned upthread, the pop-up ads became too much.

Still, I occasionally check in on the Christine Chubbuck thread. Someone, somewhere, will find that video, dammit!
